Clinical Training
Mike completed Doctoral studies in clinical psychology at the Australian National University (ANU) in 2010. He has received additional formal training in the use of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy, Trauma Focussed CBT and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR).
Background
Prior to becoming a psychologist, Mike served for 28 years in a range of command, regimental and staff appointments in the Australian Army, deploying twice on active service.
Mike has previously served on both the National and ACT Committees of the APS Clinical College.

He is registered with Medicare as a provider of Clinical Psychology Services, with ADFHSC Bupa to provide services to Defence personnel, with the Department of Veteran's Affairs (DVA) to provide psychology services to eligible veterans through Open Arms, and with EML (ACT), EML (iCare NSW), NTPFES and Comcare, as a psychology provider to ACT, NSW, NT and federal government public servants.

Experience
Mike has previously worked as a Provisional Psychologist at the ANU Psychology Clinic, the Crisis Assessment and Treatment Team (CATT) and with the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS).
He has provided therapeutic services in Canberra as a private psychologist since 2009.
In addition to his private practice, Mike teaches in the Clinical Psychology and Masters of Professional Psychology programmes at the Australian National University.
Mike also works as a volunteer telephone crisis counselor with Lifeline.
With his broad experience as a clinical psychologist, and his experience working with people in crisis as a volunteer, Mike has a passion to deliver outstanding clinical care and support to his clients.
